Min Liu, Ph.D.

Dr. Min Liu is an associate professor of Educational Psychology, specializing in quantitative methods. She earned master’s and doctoral degrees in measurement, statistics, and evaluation from the University of Maryland. Since 2011, she has taught a range of quantitative methods courses — from foundational to advanced — supporting students in developing strong analytical and research skills.

Dr. Liu’s research centers on two main areas. The first is research methodology, where she develops innovative methods or adapts existing ones to advance quantitative analysis. This line of work often involves using simulated data and computer-based experiments to address methodological questions. The second area is applied quantitative research, emphasizing the appropriate application of quantitative techniques to real-world data, providing practical insights in education, psychology, and the broader behavioral and social sciences.
