Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is the science of behavior to create real, lasting change in the lives of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Baylor University's Master of Science in Education (MSEd) in Educational Psychology with a concentration in ABA prepares students to design and deliver behavior-analytic interventions for individuals with conditions such as autism spectrum disorder, Down syndrome, and intellectual disability. Whether students are entering the field for the first time, or building on existing classroom or clinical experience, Baylor's ABA program equips them with the same strong foundation of the principles and practice of applied behavior analysis.
The coursework blends behavior-analytic theory with hands-on application through placement within the Baylor Autism Resource Clinic (BARC), preparing graduates to sit for the Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) exam and step into roles in clinics and schools. Baylor's ABA program can be completed in just 15 months on campus, and is one of the fastest available pathways to BCBA certification available. Applied Behavior Analysis Program Overview
The MSEd in Educational Psychology with a concentration in Applied Behavior Analysis is carefully sequenced so students first build foundational knowledge in a traditional classroom setting, then are able to apply the knowledge gained in a practicum experience led by world-class Baylor faculty. This structure gives students hands-on, supervised experience implementing behavior-analytic interventions before they enter the field. Students typically start in the summer and complete the program in 15 months.
The Association for Behavior Analysis International (ABAI) has verified courses in this program toward the coursework requirements for eligibility to sit for the Board Certified Behavior Analyst® (BCBA) examination.*
