Flexible, Multidisciplinary Program
The Baylor PhD offers a personalized path of study, developed in collaboration with your academic advisor. In addition to coursework in your specialization, you will be paired with an expert faculty mentor who teaches and researches in that specialization.
Baylor offers research-focused specializations in the following areas:
Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA)
Study and use the science of behavior to make meaningful impacts on people’s lives.
Gifted & Talented Education
Study the theory of exceptionality, individual differences related to cognitive ability, and the psychology of giftedness.
Quantitative Methods
Become a researcher and scholar with multidisciplinary perspectives, learning from experts in latent variable models, psychometrics, longitudinal growth models, and more.
Special Education
Learn through rigorous, research-intensive coursework that is grounded in the latest evidence and methodologies for future scholars in disability-related fields.
Dual Specialization Option
In some cases, students may pursue two specializations, such as Special Education and Gifted Education. If you're interested in this option, please reach out to faculty from both programs to ensure it aligns with your goals and can be completed within your timeframe.
