Applied Behavior Analysis

Applied Behavior Analysis

Applied Behavior Analysis is using the science of behavior to make meaningful impacts on people’s lives. The Baylor University ABA program emphasizes how to implement ABA-based interventions to teach people with disabilities new skills and reduce problem behavior.

Students will be prepared to work with a wide range of individuals with disabilities such as autism, Down Syndrome and intellectual disability.

Application Requirements:

  • Personal statement
  • Resume
  • GRE Scores
  • Three Letters of Recommendation
  • Undergraduate Transcripts

The ABA program in the School of Education

  • Prepares students to use evidence-based interventions to help children with developmental disabilities, such as autism.
  • Combines traditional classroom learning with hands-on experiences with children at Baylor CARE and other community programs.
  • Offers students internships with local ABA providers. Students get hands-on ABA experience in the community, while also receiving tuition discount.
  • Offers students the opportunity to get involved in applied research at Baylor CARE.
  • Offered within master's and doctoral degree plans.
  • Prepares graduates to take the Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) exam.

Why Choose Baylor's ABA Program?

  • Competitive applicants for the master’s program with a concentration in ABA receive a tuition discount up to 95% off of tuition at the time of admission.
  • Prior to their enrollment semester, students may participate in a job fair. Local agencies serving in individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities who are also willing to provide supervised fieldwork toward the BCBA credential participate in the job fair.
  • Students receive supervised field experience working with children with developmental disabilities at Baylor CARE.
  • MSEd program with a summer start date can be completed in 15 months.
